Henry E. Wolgast Jr.

Henry E. Wolgast Jr., 71, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at Mid Michigan Health in Midland, Michigan on Saturday, July 23, 2016. He was born in Flint, Michigan on May 22, 1945, the son of Henry Sr. & Kathryn (Smith) Wolgast. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam Era. On April 29, 1972 he was united in marriage to his true love, Rosemary Ocenasek in Owosso, Michigan. They celebrated 44 wonderful years together. He was employed with Eagle Excavation in Flint for 30 years, retiring in 2001 and he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324. Henry had lived in Gladwin County for the last 12 years, previously residing in Bancroft, Michigan and Florida. He found great pleasure in gardening and working around his yard. He was very proud grandfather and loved spoiling each and every one of his grandchildren. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife: Rosemary Wolgast of Gladwin; daughters: Jill McCoy of Lansing; Jenny (Bob) Schlomer of Zimmerman, Minnesota; son: Jeff (Christina) Wolgast of Davison. His children blessed him with 5 beautiful grandchildren: Blair, Tyler, Joe, Hannah, and Katie; 2 wonderful great grandsons: Seiya and Silas. He will also be remembered by his brothers: Robert Wolgast of Port St. Lucie, Florida; William Wolgast of Biloxi, Mississippi; sister: Diana (Rick) Bailey of Flint; brother: Stephen (Marsha) Wolgast of Lansdale, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his parents. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services at this time.
