James Virden, 73, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at Mid Michigan Health, Midland, Michigan, on Monday, July 11, 2016. He was born the son of Justin and Francis (Hayes) Virden on May 12, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan. He was united in marriage to his true love Lois Harris on November 29, 1974 in Rockwood, Michigan. He was an employee of Ford Motor Company Truck Plant of Wayne, Michigan for 31 years before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Wayne-Westland Eagles. He was a resident of Gladwin County for 21 years, previously residing in Wayne, Michigan. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 42 1/2 years Lois Virden, two daughters: Jennifer Flinn of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Samantha (Virt) Elion of Belleville, Michigan; three sons: Neal (Minda) Johnson of Nebraska, Ralph Johnson of Texas and Carl Uhl of Taylor, Michigan. His children blessed him with nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his four brothers: Ronald (Kathy) Verdin of Highland, Michigan, Robert (Cathy) Diver of Highland, Michigan, Donnie (Pat) Diver of Highland, Michigan, and Marty Diver of River Rouge, Michigan; one sister: Lori (Timmy) Diver-Bray of Trenton, Michigan and special friends: LeRoy Brennan, Jimmy Ryan, Linda (Jim) Jaggers and Rhonda (Mike) Durbin. He is preceded in death by his son Jimmy Allen, his daughter Robin Virden, his parents and his sister Sheila Cutright. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 12-4 at the Wayne Westland Amvets Post 171 (address: 1217 S Merriman Rd, Westland, MI 48186).
