Paul Arthur Salgat

Paul Arthur Salgat, 72, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 10, 2016. He was born the son of William and Lucy (Charboneau) Salgat in Pinconning, Michigan on Jaunary 19, 1944. On February 20, 1965 he married the love of his life Madelene Poniatowski in Pinconning, Michigan. He was employed as a custodian at The Sacred Heart Church in Gladwin, Michigan. Paul had lived in Gladwin County for most of his life and was also a dairy farmer. He enjoyed reading, walking, playing cards, camping and playing with his grandkids. He was also a member of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Those who knew him would readily express that Paul was a funny guy. His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 51 years, his three daughters: Leann (Joe) Imrie of Richmond, Texas, Karen (David) Armentrout of Ionia, Michigan and Marcia Salgat of Casnovia, Michigan; and his two sons: Matt (Katrina) Salgat of Midland, Michigan and Ron Salgat of Gladwin. His children blessed him with seven grandchildren: Mason and Mitchell Imrie; Austin and Madelene Armentrout; and Amanda, Benjamin and William Salgat. He is also survived by his brothter Tom (Cathy) Salgat of Pinconning, his sister Diane (Orland) Lavrack of Linwood, Michigan, sister in-law Marie Salgat of Linwood, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ed Salgat. Funeral Services will be conducted by Father Portelli on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.
