Barbara L. Widrig, 80, of Sugar Springs, Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, July 02, 2016. Barbara was born the daughter of Lynn & Ila (Dexter) Griffin at her home on April 8, 1936, in Charlotte, Michigan. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 1953. On March 4, 1956, she married the love of her life George W. Widrig. They spent 55 wonderful years together, he predeceased her on September 11, 2011. While taking care of her family throughout the years, Barbara also worked for the United Way, American Red Cross, and several schools. Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Branch, and also a member of both Sugar Springs Golf Association and Garden Club in Gladwin and Seven Springs Golf Club and Garden Club in New Port Richey, FL. She loved golf, bridge, traveling, and spending time with her friends. Barbara spent most of her retirement in Sugar Springs and Florida. Left to cherish her memory are her 3 daughters: Lauralyn (Ken) Gross of Beal City, Michigan; Gail (Jerome) Arnold of Eatonton, Georgia; Lisa (Daniel) West of Kennesaw, Georgia; grandchildren: Amber (Dan) Genzink, Cory (Ashley) Gross, Chad Arnold, and Shana Arnold. Also she is survived by her sister: Phyllis Root of Mulliken; and brother: Dexter Griffin of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lynn Griffin & Ila (Griffin) Boyles; step-father: Irvin Boyles. Memorial Services will be conducted by Pastor Timothy Dibble on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, 4:00 P.M. at The First United Methodist Church, West Branch, Michigan. Private Graveside Services will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Sugar Springs Country Club, Gladwin, or Seven Springs County Club, New Port Richey, Florida.
