Dorothy Whitney

Dorothy Whitney, 98, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at the Gladwin Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre on Monday, February 1, 2016. She was born in Gladwin on March 29, 1917, the daughter of William & Ethel (Demaray) Hall. On August 21, 1936, she was united in marriage to her true love, Clayton Whitney in Sandusky, Michigan. They shared 67 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 2003. She had lived in Gladwin County for most of her life and she was employed at the Gladwin Mill End Store. Her memory will be cherished by her children: Barbara (Robert) Kusch of Gladwin; Mary Kay (George) Bukowski of Marine City; Donald (Maria) Whitney of California; grandchildren: Brian, Beth, Jeff, Teri and Ryan; great grandchildren: Brianna, Sean, Alexandria, Victoria, Cameron, Michael, Kyler and Sage; daughter in-law: Jane Whitney of Gladwin; brother: James (Roma) Forgie of Gladwin; sister in-law: Phyllis Hall of Waterford. She is preceded in death by her husband: Clayton Whitney; son: Tim Whitney; daughter in-law: Dian Whitney; brothers: Fred Hall; Elmer Hall. Honoring her wishes, cremation took place and Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan at 11:00 A.M.
