Donna Jean Yerke

Donna Jean Yerke, 84, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home. She was born the only daughter of Dale and Cora (Burr) Stalter on February 24, 1932 in Bay City, Michigan. She spent most of her life in Gladwin County, previously residing in Tennessee. She was united in marriage to Herbert Yerke on April 13, 1962. They shared 23 years together before he predeceased her in 1985. She worked for Dr. Sweet’s office and the Gladwin Hospital as a bookkeeper and stenographer. Donna attended the Round Lake Baptist Church and loved all of God’s animals, but especially cats. Her memory will be cherished by her aunt: Bernice Mercer of Gladwin, Michigan; uncle: Dean (Jean) Stalter of Shepherd, Michigan and by many cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband; an infant sister Phyllis and her parents. Honoring her wishes, immediate burial will take place at the Beaverton City Cemetery on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Brad Withrow. Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers are asked to consider Hospice of Gladwin.
