Barney Bergman, 75, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 28, 1941 the son of Max & Nettie (Kaplan) Bergman. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was employed with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and was an Actuary Consultant. His memory will be forever cherished by his only daughter: Randi and her husband Jeffrey Sklar of Manhattan, New York and their daughter, Barney’s granddaughter: Emma Sklar of Manhattan, NY; mother of his darling daughter Randi: Joan Bergman of Queens, NY; dear sister: Barbara Kannapin and her husband Dieter of Ossining, NY; nephew: Scott Franklin of Manhattan, NY; niece: Elissa Franklin-Cadovius of Patchogue, NY; and his loving companion: Jean Blades of Beaverton, MI and her son: Don Gust. He is preceded in death by his parents. He will be laid to rest on Monday, May 16, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at Tobacco Twp. Cemetery, Beaverton, Michigan. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. In memory of Barney Bergman, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or United Jewish Appeal.
