Edward J. Hare, 78, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at his home on Friday, April 15, 2016. He was born in Hemlock, Michigan on February 11, 1938 the son of Herman & Esther (Phillips) Hare. In June of 1959, he married his true love, Ruth Masar in Lakefield, Michigan. They shared 57 wonderful years together. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed with Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring after 32 years of service. He had lived in Gladwin County since 1993, previously residing in Hemlock and he was a member of UAW Local 699, and a member of the Beaverton Church of God. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife Ruth Hare of Beaverton, and his faithful companion, Henry; 3 lovely daughters: Karen (Tom) Satkowiak of Saginaw; Janet (Tim) Bergman of Beaverton; Elaine (Craig) Merrell of Freeland; daughter in-law: Darlene Hare of Birch Run. He was blessed with 12 beautiful grandchildren: Jenny (Jeff) Rankin; Matt (Sara) Satkowiak; Steven Merrell; Elizabeth Merrell; Sara (Joel) Meier; Abi Bergman; Cal Bergman; Zach Hare; Rachel Hare; Stephanie (Nick) Kuchey; Chelsea Hare; Brent (Kefira) Zink; 9 great grandchildren: Charlie, Izzy, Stella, Cameron, Daniel, Ryan, Elizabeth, Leland and Alanna. He is also survived by his brothers: John (Lois) Spaeth; Fred Spaeth; Floyd (Bev) Hare; sister: Gerry Berkley and several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sons: Mark and Allan; sisters: Daisy Colpean, Mazie Spaeth, Joyce Kinsey, step-father: Winfred Spaeth; in-laws: Michael & Beatrice Masar. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Chris Slosser on Friday, April 22, 2016, 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral, Beaverton, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 2-8:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest at Billings Twp. Cemetery, Beaverton, Michigan.
