Donald R. Cohoon, 76, of Midland, Michigan passed away at his lake house on Friday, April 15, 2016. He was born on August 8, 1939 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Gay & Bessie (Stuhr) Cohoon. On June 29, 1961 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Maria Pia Inderbitzin, in Laipacco, Udine, Italy. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was employed with Bill Oberloier in Beaverton prior to taking a job with Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan, retiring in 1993. He was a resident of Midland County since 1967, previously residing in Gladwin County. He was a member of The Blessed Sacrament Church in Midland, the Midland Elks, the Bay City Yacht Club and the Sunset Shores Yacht Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years: Maria Pia Cohoon of Midland; son Jeffery (Kellie) Cohoon of Coleman; daughter Lisa (Kevin) Werth of Midland. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Vincent (Cassie) Cohoon of Midland, Samantha Cohoon (Lance White) of Genesee Twp., Alex Werth (Kaelah English) of Mount Pleasant, Cameron Werth of Midland, Hailey Werth of Midland, and 4 great grandchildren: Landon Werth, Auria Werth, Kylie White, Peyton Cohoon. His memory will also be cherished by his brothers: Stewart “Bud” Cohoon of California, Eugene (Zelma) Cohoon of Sault Ste. Marie; sister: Virginia Evans of Beaverton, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, and brothers James Cohoon and Elliot Cohoon. Funeral Services will be conducted by Fr. Nick Coffaro on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 3-7:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest at Beaverton City Cemetery, Beaverton, Michigan.
