Donald R. Willford

Donald R. Willford, 63, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. He was born in Clare, Michigan on September 11, 1952, the youngest of five children of Gordon & Geneva (Thorington) Willford. He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County where he farmed his entire life. He was a past member of the Gladwin County School Board and a proud supporter of the Gladwin County 4-H Program. He was also a member of the Gladwin County Farm Bureau, Gladwin Wrestling Club and Michigan Milk Producers Association. His memory will be forever cherished by his five children: Kelly (Jon) Conley of Gladwin, Michigan, Karla (Kevin) Lamson of Beaverton, Michigan, Kory (Kim) Willford of Gladwin, Michigan, Kourtney (Steve) Cingano of Gladwin, Michigan, and Kasey (Nick) Elliott of Gladwin, Michigan. He was blessed with 17 beautiful grandchildren: Allyson, Mitchell, Sydney, Delaney, Kelsie, Harlie, Archer, Alexis, Makayah, Brevyn, Avayah, Havyn, Gage, Garrett, Gianna, Jaxson, Harper, and another one on the way. He is also survived by: three brothers: Louis “Jake” (Deborah) Willford of Gladwin, Michigan, Jim (Lana) Willford of Gladwin, Michigan, John (Linda) Willford of Gladwin, Michigan; one sister: Clara “Cookie” (Jim) Gascon of Escanaba, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; the mother of his children: Ann (Jerry) Clayton of Alger, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by Pastor David Amstutz on Thursday, April 14, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 2-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.
