Carthel "Cork" R. Strunk

Carthel “Cork” Roe Strunk, 74, of Beaverton, Michigan, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, March 25, 2016. He was born in Oneida, Tennessee on October 27, 1941, the son of Ansel & Nellie (Owens) Strunk. On January 21, 1961, he was united in marriage to the woman of his dreams, Mary Lee Swetnich in Warren, Michigan. He was self-employed, working as an auto body repairman for several dealerships throughout the Warren area, retiring in 1995. He had lived in Gladwin County for the last 32 years, previously residing in Warren, and he was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Gladwin. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 55 wonderful years, Mary Strunk of Beaverton; daughters: Brenda (Randy) Osborn of Clinton Township; Noreen (Kevin) Ferguson of Washington Township. He was blessed with 8 beautiful grandchildren and 3 great grandsons. He is also survived by his brothers: Ariel D. (Jeanette) Strunk of Capac; Larhman Strunk of Gladwin; sister: Lelia (Edwin) Meece of Beaverton; brothers: Terrence (Sue) Strunk of Pontiac; George (Barb) Strunk of Warren; Andel (Liz) Strunk of Roseville; sister in-laws: Gerry Strunk of Macomb; Ida M. Goodboo of Gladwin; Jeanette Strunk of Capac; Phyllis Strunk of Gladwin; Sandy Strunk of Warren as well as several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Ansel & Nellie Strunk; daughter: Linda Heiple; 5 brothers: Carl D. Strunk; Ansel R. Strunk; Larsel Strunk; Edel Strunk; Gerald Strunk; 1 sister: Juana Moody. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Sam Wilson on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 2-8:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest at Grout Twp. Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan.
