Joan B. Marszalek

Joan Beverly Marszalek, 75, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 20, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Joan was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 29, 1941, the daughter of William & Anna (Parulis) Wilson. On September 10, 1960, she was united in marriage to her true love, Fred Marszalek in Detroit, Michigan. She was employed with Smith Office Supplies in Livonia, Michigan as a clerk, and retired in 1986. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1992, previously residing in Westland, Michigan. She was a member of F.O.E. Secord Lake Aerie 4121 Auxiliary and generously donated her services to the pasty dinners and collecting money for several other events. Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband of 55 years, Fred Marszalek of Gladwin; daughter: Catherine (Tim) McCardell of Northville; son: Fred B. Marszalek Jr. of Dearborn Heights. Her children blessed her with 3 beautiful grandchildren: Roger West of Northville, Michigan; Edward Searles Jr. and Monica Ball both of Zepher Hills, Florida; sister: Nadine Frost of Redford, Michigan; dear friend and caregiver: Tracy Domanski of Gladwin, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her daughter: Carolyn Ball; mother Anna Wilson in 1992; father: William Wilson in 1966. Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 23, 2016, 1:00 P.M., with a gathering for family and friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. at Secord Lake Eagles, Gladwin, Michigan.
