Laurel L. "Owl" Breault

Laurel L. “Owl” Breault, 64, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Mid-Michigan Health Midland, Michigan. Laurel was born March 3, 1952 in Gladwin, to George and Beatrice (Brown) Breault. She was a lifetime residence of Gladwin. Laurel graduated in 1970 from Gladwin High School. She worked for 35 years at the Gladwin District Library, starting her career as a Library Aide, presenting story hour and created the popular booked for lunch program. Laurel’s position as assistant director in charge of acquisitions allowed her to select books that encouraged patrons young and old to share her passion for reading. She shared her love of flower gardening with her family and friends. Many were also the grateful recipients of her cooking and baking skills. She is survived by her beloved siblings: Jill (Pat) Rosin of Gladwin; Darwin Breault of South Carolina; George Breault Jr. of Gladwin and Vicky MacRitchie of Belize. Cherished “Owl” to her nieces: Jaclyn (Scott) Badger and Meredith Rosin; nephews: Aaron, Tyler, Cole and Clay Breault. Laurel is also survived by her aunts: Coral Brokoff; Donna Lee Matthews; Vivian, Ruth; Frieda Breault and many treasured cousins who considered Laurel the glue of the family, along with her library family, gym friends and knitting group. Laurel was preceded in death by her parents: uncles: William (Maxine) Breault; Wilbur and Ralph Breault; Edmund Brokoff; James Matthews; Lawrence Brown; Edward Brown; aunts: Ethel (Neil) Nickless; Alna (Clarence) Brown; Marian (Orlay) Klein and Nellie (Perry) Grey. Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, March 21, 2016, 11:00 am at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, 440 E. Cedar Ave., Gladwin, with Fr. Thomas Downs officiating.
