Mary Jane Broka

Mary Jane Broka, 89, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at Mid Michigan Health in Gladwin on Friday, February 5, 2016. She was born in Fairgrove, Michigan on January 2, 1927, the daughter of William & Ellen Marie (Sheridan) Kelly. On January 25, 1956 she was united in marriage to her true love, Lloyd Broka in Gladwin. They shared 52 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 2008. She was a graduate of Beaverton High School and resided in Beaverton for most of her life. She was owner/operator of the Beaverton Tavern until her retirement. She was a member of the V.F.W. 7303 Auxiliary and also F.O.E. Gladwin Aerie 3292 Auxiliary. Her memory will be cherished by her daughters: Anna Marie (Steve) Auer of Midland; Mary Ellen (Ric) Abbotts of Beaverton; son: Daniel (Brenda) Broka of Beaverton. Her children blessed her with 6 beautiful grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Steven, Carly, Adam and Mariah; 4 wonderful great grandchildren: Zoey, Hudson, Isla and Carter. She is also survived by 1 brother: William Kelly of Auburn and many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother: Timothy Kelly. Funeral Services will be conducted by Fr. Marcel Portelli on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gladwin, Michigan. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
